4 steps to design your pool

Mark Toth

A pool is usually a major investment for most people, so it is important that everything fits perfectly with your own property and matches the house.

  1. Choose a location - The pool should be placed somewhere with sun, so you can sit on the gable steps and improve your quality of life. The pool looks beautiful when the light is on at night, so place the pool clearly visible from the living room. We recommend having at least 1.5 m around the pool so the space does not feel too cramped, and at least about 3 m on the short side (opposite the steps) to be able to slide the pool cover away.
  2. Choose shape and steps - The latest trend is rectangular pools. For large 4×8 pools, it is nice to have gable steps to sit on, while for smaller pools like 3.5×7 or 3×6 you want to have the entire length of the pool free, so corner steps are most suitable.
  3. Choose a color - Remember that the water color will always be a bit darker than the color of the pool without water. A white pool will be light blue, a light blue pool will be blue, and a gray pool will be turquoise.
  4. Choose the right accessories - Pumps and filters are standard accessories for pools, but it can be a good idea to prepare space for a pool cover, a pool heat pump, a salt chlorinator, or automatic dosing equipment.
