    What is a fiberglass pool?

    A fiberglass pool is made from a single piece of fiberglass-reinforced plastic, making it extremely strong, watertight, and resistant to cracks. The surface is covered with a gel coat layer that makes the pool both smooth and hygienic, minimizing algae growth and making cleaning easy.

    Quick installation and long lifespan

    Unlike concrete or liner pools, a fiberglass pool is quick to install. Because the pool shells are delivered pre-made, installation can often be completed in just a few days. This means less digging, fewer workdays – and you can start enjoying your new pool much sooner.

    A fiberglass pool also has a very long lifespan. With proper care, it can last 30 years or more without needing to replace the liner or renovate the surface layer.

    Polyester is a material that slowly allows water molecules to penetrate over time, and it is generally estimated that it takes about a year for water molecules to pass through one layer of polyester and then begin to penetrate the next layer. A cheap fiberglass pool is often made from this material.

  • Vinylester


    Vinylester is a material that also allows water molecules to pass through, but this process takes much longer than for polyester. It is estimated to take 20 years for vinylester to allow water molecules to pass through. A more expensive fiberglass pool is often made from this material. The innermost layer in a fiberglass pool is called gelcoat and is what gives the pool its color. Gelcoat is produced both in Europe and Australia, but the best gelcoat is made in Australia.
