First and foremost, you have a price for the pool itself. You also need to decide on accessories for the pool, such as a pool robot, pool heating, pool cleaning, pool cover, etc. In addition, there is also a price for the installation of the pool itself.
If you want an inground pool, you will need someone to help you with the excavation work and the installation of the pool. If you are handy, it is of course possible to both excavate and install the pool yourself, but for most people, this is not an option.

The price of the pool itself is often a larger part of the total cost. There are many different types of pools to choose from, and the price of the pool is influenced, among other things, by the size and the material the pool is made of.
There is an old saying that goes "it's expensive to buy cheap," and when it comes to buying a pool, it is important to keep this in mind. You want a pool to last for many years, and of course, it should be durable and adapted to the Swedish climate.
Thermal pool
-
Hvad er en termopool?
A thermopool is built on site, and the construction process begins with casting a concrete slab on which the pool will be built. The pool is then constructed with blocks that are filled with reinforcement and concrete.
The thermopool has a lower price than, for example, a PP pool, but takes longer to install. This means that the total installation cost is usually about the same as if you buy a more expensive PP pool.
If you are a craftsman with good knowledge of construction and engineering, you can build a thermopool yourself and thereby reduce the total cost, but if you do not intend to build it yourself, it makes sense to consider buying a PP pool instead. -
Hvor lång tid tar det att bygga en termisk pool?
The total time to install a thermal pool is somewhere between 6-10 weeks.
It takes about a week to dig, lay the base/drainage, and cast a concrete base slab. Once this is done, it takes a couple of days to build the pool and fill the pool blocks with reinforcement and concrete. After this, you need to wait about four weeks for the concrete to cure before you can use your new pool.
At Pooltime, we sell both thermal pools and PP pools and always recommend the solution we believe is right for your needs and conditions. However, we recommend that you always look at the total price to install your pool and not just focus on the cost of the pool itself, so you get as accurate a picture as possible of what the total price will actually be.
PP pool
-
What is a PP pool?
A PP pool is made of polypropylene, which is a type of plastic that is durable, UV-resistant, and non-toxic. The plastic polypropylene is, among other things, approved as a material for drinking water containers. Polypropylene is a homogeneous material with high durability, and a PP pool has higher strength than, for example, a thermo pool.
In addition to being built from a more durable material than a thermo pool, a PP pool also has other advantages. A PP pool can withstand temperatures over 33 degrees, and for those who want to enjoy swimming in a heated pool, this is a great benefit. Another advantage of a PP pool is that it has good insulation properties, which reduces heating costs compared to other pool constructions. -
Hvor lång tid tar det att bygga en PP-pool?
A PP pool is delivered as a complete tub and comes in one piece, which means the installation time is shorter than, for example, a thermal pool. The total time it takes to install a PP pool is about 2-3 weeks from the moment you start digging the foundation until the pool is installed and ready to use.
If you have high groundwater where you live, or have an unstable substrate such as sand, you must first cast a concrete slab. If you need to cast a concrete slab, this is done about a week before the pool is delivered, as the substrate must cure for about seven days. If your ground instead has a hard substrate and no high groundwater, a base layer and crushed stone as well as drainage are usually sufficient as a foundation. It is then sufficient to start the excavation 2-3 days before the pool delivery.
When the pool is sunk into the ground, you then connect the skimmer, inlet, and lights. After this is done, you can start filling with water while backfilling the sides with dry mortar, which then forms concrete when it has cured. Backfilling the pool takes about 1-2 days (if you have access to two water hoses).
Arbejdsomkostninger og poolinstallation
As we described above, labor costs for a pool are influenced by several different parameters.
Among other things, the following affect the price of a pool installation:
-
Type of pool
A thermal pool takes longer to
install than a PP pool -
The conditions at the location
, where the pool is to be installed.
High groundwater level and unstable ground are two factors that affect the installation time. -
Ground restoration or
paving/wooden terrace
We help restore the ground after
we have installed your pool and assist you in building a wooden terrace around the pool or laying tiles

Having your own pool improves both quality of life and makes your home a more beautiful place. There is something special about open water next to the house, even if it is in a limited area.
Many who are considering getting a pool are interested in knowing how much it costs to have a pool installed and prepared. However, there are also ongoing costs associated with having a pool, which can be good to keep in mind.
For us at Pooltime, it is important to be transparent about how we work and what the costs of a pool are, so you as a customer can make a well-informed purchase decision based on facts. Our experience tells us that this approach also creates satisfied customers, which is very important to us.
To help you keep track of what it costs to have a pool, we have calculated some of the ongoing monthly costs for a pool. -
-
Monthly costs for heating the pool
The monthly cost of heating a 4 x 8 meter pool to a water temperature of 28 degrees is approximately 500-1,000 Kr per month during the swimming season when using a pool heat pump.
The exact price depends on several factors, including the size of the pool, the desired water temperature, how well insulated the pool is, and whether you have installed a pool cover. The heating costs for your pool are also naturally affected by the type of electricity contract you have and the overall price of electricity.
-
Månedlig rengøringspris
To be able to use and enjoy your pool, you need to have a clean pool.
The price for cleaning your pool depends on the cleaning solution you choose and whether you have installed a pool cover. It is difficult to give a general answer to what the monthly price is for cleaning your pool, because the cleaning solution you choose affects the price. But to give an indication of what it can cost to clean, you can expect around 1,000-2,000 Kr per month during the swimming season.
Tips to reduce the monthly costs of your pool
Pool Roof
A pool cover is a good solution to keep your pool heating costs down. A pool cover prevents the heat in the water from evaporating and instead stays under the pool cover, which means your heating system doesn't have to work as hard to maintain the water temperature.
In other words, you avoid "making a fire for the crows," as the old saying goes. Another advantage of a pool cover is that it prevents insects and leaves, pollen, and other things from falling into the pool and contaminating the water, which reduces the cost of cleaning the pool.
Pool Accessories
Another way to keep the ongoing monthly cleaning costs for your pool down is to buy a pool robot or pool vacuum cleaner that automatically cleans the pool.
