The water circulates through the overflow (the so-called pool skimmer), which effectively sucks in all surface water with leaves and other debris, which gets caught in the overflow's safety basket and then goes on to the sand filter for cleaning.
A skimmer is an important accessory for keeping a pool clean. It works by collecting floating debris, such as leaves, flower petals, and insects, from the pool surface. This helps prevent the debris from sinking to the bottom of the pool, where it can be harder to remove.
Pool skimmers come in two main types:
- A surface skimmer is the most common type of overflow water. It is located on the edge of the pool and has an opening that sucks debris from the pool surface.
- An overflow skimmer is another type. It is located in a corner of the pool and has a wide opening that sucks debris from the pool surface.
