Could a plastic pool be smart?

Mark Toth

When the Swedish summer is at its most beautiful, many want to stay home in the garden and enjoy it. And what could be more wonderful than having your own pool to cool off in?

It has never been easier or faster than now to order a pool that is completely tailored to your needs and the size of your garden.

The secret is a molded plastic shell that is simply lifted into your garden and down into a well. A little preparation, a little finishing work, and voila, you can start swimming. A typical installation also takes just under a week from the moment the digger starts digging the hole until the pool is fully installed. It's actually a bit magical.

But you might think that a plastic pool won't look very nice. Of course, you want it to be like a jewel in the garden once you've made your decision.

Yes, of course a pool should be both aesthetic and practical. So it's lucky that technology has managed to catch up. The plastic used for a PP pool is beautifully colored and feels far from plastic. In addition, it can be shaped so you get both stairs and a bench. Then it looks like any dream pool.

Moreover, you actually get many other benefits that are not visible at first glance.

The environmentally friendly plastic, called polypropylene (PP), is specially designed for pools and is not destroyed by UV light. It is also scratch-resistant and can withstand temperatures over 30 degrees. Not all days are equally warm, and then you want to be able to heat your pool, right? It should also be able to retain heat and not change the structure of the warm water. And here the thermoplastic polypropylene is perfect.

If you have now decided to invest in a pool for next summer, I just want to give you one last tip. Although it is quick to get a pool in place, you are of course not alone in your dream. The queue can be long. Therefore, it is smart to start planning and get it in place already in the fall. Then you can quickly get started and swim early in the spring and really make the most of all the sunny days next year. And I think you want that.
