High ceilings by the pool
When pool enclosures came to Sweden in the 2000s, only the tall models were delivered in a box. The tall models handle snow well, and you don’t have to worry about the pool enclosure if you go on a winter vacation.
Another advantage of a high pool roof is that it is easier to keep clean. The curved pool roof has a steeper slope along the sides, which means dirt and snow slide off more easily than on low pool roofs, which have a flatter surface.
The curved pool roof is also better when snow accumulates on it. If you have a flat pool roof, it’s best to sweep the snow away. If you have a summer house/cabin with a pool that you don’t have as good a view of, one with a high roof may be better as a winter cover.
The high ceilings in the pool are about 1.5 meters tall, which means it almost feels like your own swimming pool, and you get a long swimming season. You can jump, stand, and play throughout the pool. Many think they are large, but there are many advantages to large and high ceilings.
MEDIUM-HIGH POOL CEILING
Medium-high pool enclosures usually have a height of about 90 cm. This is still a good height for a comfortable environment that allows you to swim and stand in the middle of the pool. Heights under half a meter are considered more protective.
When you have a roof less than one meter above the ground, no building permit or notification is required. However, the distance to the property boundary must be at least 4.5 meters. If you need to place the pool and pool roof closer to your neighbor’s boundary, you must have the neighbor’s written consent.
Medium-high pool enclosures are a good choice as they do not block the view of the landscape, garden, or neighbors’ views. You can swim comfortably under a fully covered pool, and it allows free movement in the middle of the covered pool area thanks to the higher construction.
The medium height of the pool roof is therefore a good compromise if you want to be able to stay and move around under the pool roof but not hide too much of the view from the house or for the neighbors. Even medium-high roofs have models with more curved roofs, making cleaning easier and winter covering simpler.
It is easy and hassle-free to open the roof with sections that can move in both directions. If you wish, you can extend the railing so the entire roof can be pushed away from the pool area.
The sliding system allows smooth movement of the segments in both directions. If the rails are extended, the entire pool roof can be slid away from the pool area so you can swim completely under the open sky.
LOW CEILING OVER THE POOL
In recent years, it has been a big trend to have as low a ceiling over the pool as possible. A low ceiling over the pool does not obstruct the view from the house, which can be valuable if you want to enjoy sunsets or if you have a sea view.
Neighbors can also be a reason for this trend. A low ceiling in the pool does not block neighbors’ views, which means fewer complaints from neighbors.
Another reason to choose a low roof is the low total weight, which made it easier to push the roof sections away and open the pool. But with today’s wheel technology, sliding rails, and telescopic constructions, there is not much difference between those with a high roof or a low roof. Its roof sections are just as easy to open.
ULTRA LOW POOL CEILINGS WITH RAILING ON ONE SIDE
The pool roof models Sydney and Champion are ultra-low pool roofs that only have one rail on one side. These roofs are exclusive and of the highest quality.
Since you usually enter the pool on one side, with this solution you can choose to place the railings on the opposite side so you don’t see the railings when you enter the pool. A simple and stylish solution to avoid railings.

CHILD-SAFE AND PET-SAFE POOL COVERS
All our pool enclosures are approved safety covers and have lockable modules to keep unauthorized persons out and prevent children from getting into the pool. Drowning accidents are the most common cause of death when it comes to small children. Protect your children and your pets with a pool cover of really good quality that is easy to open and close.
Pool enclosures keep children and pets away from the pool when you are not present. With a pool cover, you don’t need to build a fence or enclosure around the pool in the garden, as the pool cover itself is sufficient as safety. Since pool accidents usually happen when children are curious and exploring the surrounding environment, it is easy for them to fall in by accident.
According to Boverket’s regulations, everyone who builds a pool must have sufficient protection for children and pets to reduce the risk of drowning accidents. This is a requirement that applies to all pools with a water depth of more than 20 centimeters.
Even pets that move freely on the property risk falling into a pool that does not have a pool cover. There are no direct directives on safety equipment for pets, but you must be able to show that you have a solution for pets that maintains a high level of safety.

Unbreakable polycarbonate, multiwall polycarbonate, and clear plastic
There are many choices to make when selecting a roof for a pool. Besides the height of the pool roof, there are a variety of material options to choose from. It is important to choose the material that suits you, your needs, and your pool. All the materials we offer are of high quality.
Unbreakable polycarbonate
Polycarbonate is an incredibly good material for pool roofs. It has high strength, making the pool roof unbreakable. It is easy to work with and very resistant to UV rays. It is a robust material and can withstand temperatures from -50 degrees to +120 degrees.
Multiwall polycarbonate
Multiwall polycarbonate is made of polycarbonate and has an air gap within the material itself. The multiwall polycarbonate we sell is 8 mm thick.
Multiwall polycarbonate has much better insulation properties than clear plastic, but a disadvantage is that you don’t have as good a view through the pool roof. A pool roof made of clear plastic releases about 69% more heat than multiwall polycarbonate.
Clear plastic
Clear plastic is a solid sheet of either unbreakable polycarbonate or SAN (acrylic). We sell clear plastic in 3 mm or 4 mm thicknesses.
The SAN material is four times cheaper than polycarbonate but is less durable, and polycarbonate is unbreakable. Polycarbonate is used for police shields and is found on the sides of an ice hockey rink. Many choose clear plastic because it is easier to see through the pool roof.
Pool enclosure extends the swimming season
The trend of wanting lower and lower ceilings in the pool, even though in Sweden there is a great advantage to having a higher ceiling in the pool, namely that you can swim under the ceiling even when it is windy and raining outside. Aesthetics have simply taken over the practical.
A transparent roof on your pool means that the temperature of the pool water stays warm longer, which means you have good swimming opportunities for a larger part of the year. Since your pool water is heated by the sun’s rays, heating costs are also reduced.
Our recommendation is to choose a pool cover based on how you want to use the pool. Choosing a pool based on how you think your neighbor will see it is not a good idea. Welcome to us for advice on the different models. We have many years of experience and can give you good alternatives for your pool, good advice, and knowledge on how to install them.
The most popular design of pool enclosures is the telescopic type, where sections of gradually increasing size slide into each other. Each section rolls on rails along the pool edge to the end of the pool, where the sections fit under the largest section.
